Looking for a freelance web design gig in London? CNN needs a freelance designer to start in late September to work on CNN.com International in their London newsroom. Click through to learn more and apply:

CNN.com is looking for an experienced designer to work supporting our busy Special Projects department. Working to briefs from editorial, the designer will provide design elements for online projects and stories and work in conjunction with the team’s developers to produce interactives and bespoke templates. The designer will also be expected to produce wireframes, illustrations, infographics, maps, brand design and logos and powerpoint presentations.

The successful candidate will have experience working for a news or digital media organisation. They will also have excellent communication skills, a flexible, hardworking approach, the ability to work to very tight deadlines and follow editorial guidelines. Above all, they will have a passion for digital storytelling and a desire to innovate.

Must haves:

  • Expert photoshop and illustrator skills
  • Good knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Strong Illustration skills
  • Ability to work to brand and style guidelines
  • 3-5 years experience in a digital editorial environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies

Nice to haves:

  • Experience designing interfaces and interactives, in JavaScript or Flash
