For years, my mantra for portfolio websites has been this: If your work is beautiful, why hide it behind tiny thumbnails? This awesome Site of the Day for Breakthrough Design Group showcases a bold presentation of amazing photography. Rather than showing screen shots of client work, the site presents a slideshow of striking black-and-white imagery—taken from those client projects—that demands a closer look. What I find really interesting is that this is a web-centered shop, but we don’t find any buzzwords about the web on the homepage. Given their work and client roster it is clearly an approach that has worked for them.
